"After spending a considerable number of years outside academia working in the corporate world, I was apprehensive about getting back to university life. But the LL.M program at UCP dispelled all my doubts from the first day. After a comprehensive orientation that covered all aspects of living and studying in France, our classes began in earnest and I was blown away by the thoroughness and attention to detail of the professors as they covered all pertinent aspects of French and European law. The program focuses on getting each student to appreciate the civil law systems of France and Europe no matter what legal tradition the student comes from.

What I appreciate the most about the program is the opportunity to get out of the classroom and learn from practicing legal professionals from several (yes, not one or two, but several!) of the most prestigious law firms in Paris. On the other hand, the location of Cergy-Pontoise is ideal: You’re never far from the hubbub of Paris, yet are located in sylvan surroundings with affordable rents and student-friendly restaurants, bars, and shopping. The program is highly selective and I was privileged to learn alongside fellow students from several countries—the highlight of the year was the annual Learning Trip. Ours was to Brussels and involved interactive workshops with top experts at the European Commission!"
